We are fortunate that the pub sits beside one of the most beautiful spots on the River Idle.
With over a mile of riverfront there is excellent fishing to be had on the riverbank.
It is not unknown to land fish in excess of 20lbs.
Fishing permits can be bought from the pub and cover a days fishing.
With such an enviable stretch of the river Idle, The Haxey Gate is the perfect place for that relaxing fishing break you have been promising yourself! Overnight accomodation is available please view our rooms page.
